- According to Modern Healthcare, giant EMR vendors Epic Systems and Cerner lead the pack when ranked by ospital customers that have received Medicare meaningful use incentive payments.
- To rank vendors, the magazine reviewed more than 552,000 records from CMS' data set, including information on MU attestation from CMS and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT from 2011 to early 2014.
- When it came to developers that sold complete EMR systems, Epic was way ahead with 18.7 of the total payments for that category. Meditech and CPSI came second and third, respectively.

In addition to revealing which vendors' customers are doing well at the EMR race, the data gave a glimpse of how widespread hospital participation is in the MU program. According to the study, more than 90% of the 5,011 eligible hospitals have received at least one incentive payment.
