David F. Murchison, DDS, MMS, is serving as the sole dentist on the editorial board for Merck Manuals, an authoritative medical reference.
In his role for the Merck Manuals, Dr. Murchison collaborates with the other board
members to review the online content for accuracy and relevance.
Dr. Murchison is a clinical professor at both Texas A&M College of Dentistry and the University of Texas at Dallas. He is a retired colonel and former director of dental policy and operations for the U.S. Air Force. Prior to his appointments as a professor, Dr. Murchison spent more than thirty years on active duty as a clinical dentist, educator, and researcher.
Following his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas, Dr. Murchison received his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1980. In 2002, he earned a Master of Medical Science in Biomaterials Research and Test Methodology from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
