- Partners HealthCare and Samsung announced on Tuesday a partnership to develop mobile remote monitoring solutions.
- The first phase of the partnership will involve software development and clinical research to create chronic disease management tools.
- According to the two companies, this kind of mobile tool helps improve patient engagement, medication adherence and patient wellness management.
Some hospitals are forming tech incubators, others are developing and commercializing IT solutions in-house, others are doing what Partners is doing and collaborating with specific tech partners. The end-game is the same: Develop tools that providers either need today, or expect that they will need tomorrow. The ROI math might be a little squidgy around the edges right now, but most organizations seem to agree that it's significant.
"Combining our real-world clinical experience and implementation of connected health solutions with their leading mobile and IT technology, we believe that, together, we can re-imagine the future of health and wellness and deliver innovative, convenient and powerful personal connected health tools," said Dr. Joseph Kvedar, Vice President of Connected Health at Partners.
