In March, President Obama appeared on Funny or Die's "Between Two Ferns" with Zach Galifianakis to encourage Americans to sign up on healthcare.gov; the bit has been nominated for an Emmy in the "outstanding short-format live-action entertainment program."
The president credits the segment with a 40% increase in traffic to the health exchange website the day after the piece aired. The video has been watch 22 million times.
The Emmy Award ceremony is on August 25. The healthcare segment will have to beat out Bruno Mars' Super Bowl performance and The Soup’s True Detective piece.
