- CMS data show that 17.7 million seniors and disabled individuals have enrolled in Medicare Advantage, reports Modern Healthcare.
- Enrollment is up by 7.3% since September 2014.
- Many have been enrolling because of the benefits, such as low premiums and hearing aids with little to no cost-sharing.
According to the dataset, it looks like your Medicare Advantage may know a thing or two, huh?
Holding court in the space are big, investor-owned health insurers, including UnitedHealth Group, whose market-leading figures boast 3.48 million enrollments as of this month. This marks an 8.6% increase from last year, according to Modern Healthcare’s analysis.
More enrollees are expected to sign up for the private plans beginning Oct. 15 when the annual open enrollment period begins, lasting until Dec. 7.
