- EHR aggregation and analytics provider Arcadia Healthcare Solutions announced Tuesday that former Beth Israel Deaconess Care Organization CMO Dr. Richard Parker will assume the same role on the vendor's executive team.
- During his time with BIDCO, the organization was the highest-performing ACO is Massachussetts and ranked third nationally in the 2013 reporting year.
- Dr. Parker specializes in internal medicine and practiced within the Beth Israel Deaconess system for 27 years.
BIDCO contracts with 2,300 physicians, including almost 550 primary care physicians and over 1,750 specialists, so Parker certainly has the experience working with a large and complex accountable care organization—something that will be valuable to Arcadia as the vendor grows. Arcadia currently supports the performance and operation of 3,000 provider practices and its analytics technology enable customers to aggregate clinical data from more than 30 different EHR vendors and various health insurance claims systems, according to the company. And it's investing in its own growth: The company in June acquired ACO implementation provider Sage Technologies to further entrench its market position in the midwest.
"The Arcadia strategy is predicated on the notion that healthcare is in an irreversible transition from volume-based to value-based care, where unlocking the value of EHR data is the key to success. In the context of this enormous change, we are on a steady search for strategic opportunities to add to our competitive offering and strengthen our company for the growth ahead," said Arcadia CEO Sean Carroll last month. "Specifically, Sage brings differential operational expertise in supporting organizations well into this journey and a deeply engaged client base with a strong presence in the midwest."
