- Colorado-based Centura Health and DaVita HealthCare Partners have announced a joint venture that will manage 100,000 lives in Centura's physician-led network of providers, Colorado Health Neighborhoods.
- The joint venture will focus on preventative care by making heavy investments in patient and population databases and reaching out to high-risk individuals early.
- The 50-50 partnership will launch January 1.
DaVita HealthCare Partners, the parent company of DaVita Kidney Care, was $4.4 billion purchase in 2012 to help broaden the dialysis provider's general healthcare business. This partnership represents entry into a new market for DaVita HealthCare Partners, which does not currently manage a medical group or physician network in the state of Colorado. (Its current scope is 829,000 patients in five states.) Centura Health works with over 6,000 physicians, operating over 15 hospitals and six senior living facilities in Colorado and Kansas.
