Parsons, who previously worked for Molina Healthcare and Henry Ford Health System, will be tasked with focusing on mental well-being for patients and leading the Aetna Medical Affairs Behavioral Health organization. He will report to Aetna Chief Medical Officer Kyu Rhee.
Alongside Taft’s new role, Deborah Fernandez-Turner has also been promoted to deputy chief psychiatric officer and will report to Taft moving forward.
CVS said the role is “critical to CVS Health as we make mental well-being services more accessible, less complicated, more convenient and inviting,” according to a statement.
Taft earned an undergraduate degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta and a medical degree from Medical College of Wisconsin.
