April 2, 2026 — eHealth Technologies, a market-leading provider of AI-based healthcare interoperability platforms, today announced that Sean Ways, Head of Engineering, has been named a finalist for the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s 2026 CTO of the Year Award.
The award recognizes technology leaders who demonstrate innovative leadership and the effective use of technology to advance their organizations’ strategic initiatives. Sean joins a distinguished group of finalists representing leading organizations across healthcare, professional sports, manufacturing, and technology.
With more than 25 years of experience in software engineering, cybersecurity, and healthcare technology, Sean leads the development of eHealth Technologies’ platform strategy.
In this role, he advances AI-based interoperability to ensure clinicians have timely, organized, clinically relevant, specialty-specific patient records at the first meaningful appointment. This helps patients begin treatment sooner and gives clinicians more time to focus on care—while enabling healthcare organizations to reduce costs and increase revenue.
Over the past year, Sean led the development and launch of eHealth Connect® On-Demand, enabling automated collection and delivery of patient records—from days to minutes. He also advanced interoperability and integrations that streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve access to critical patient information.
“Sean’s leadership reflects a clear understanding that technology only matters if it delivers real-world impact,” said Dan Torrens, CEO of eHealth Technologies. “His focus on applying AI in practical, workflow-driven ways is helping our customers accelerate care, improve efficiency, and better serve patients.”
eHealth Technologies supports health systems, care coordination companies, life sciences organizations, and networks that enable secure data sharing, and is trusted by 70% of the nation’s top health systems.
“There’s a lot of excitement around AI, but what matters is how it’s applied,” said Sean. “Our focus is on using AI to solve real problems—making sure clinicians have the complete patient story when it matters most.”
The Pittsburgh Technology Council will recognize the finalists and announce the winner at the 2026 CIO of the Year & Tech Titan Awards on April 16, 2026, at The Westin Pittsburgh.
