ApexaQLA Suisse, a preeminent pediatric physical therapy center specializing in advanced and evidence-based therapies for children with neurological and motor disabilities, is proud to announce a groundbreaking event featuring renowned expert Gerti Motavalli, MPT. This unique initiative, a first of its kind in Switzerland, establishes ApexaQLA Suisse as a lighthouse for the international therapy community, demonstrating its leading role in bringing innovative, evidence-based treatments to children.
ApexaQLA Suisse's mission is to help every child reach their full potential through intensive, individualized therapy programs. The center, guided by the motto “Success for your child: Step by Step,” is dedicated to providing cutting-edge solutions for conditions such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other neuromotoric impairments. This event is a testament to that commitment, offering a unique opportunity for both families and medical professionals to engage with a therapy concept that is advancing the field.
Ms. Gerti Motavalli, with over 40 years of experience in pediatric neurological rehabilitation, will lead the event. As a pioneer in the field, she co-developed the first protocol for spinal stimulation in children with Spina Bifida, with the findings published in Child Neurology Open in 2019. Her work with Non-Invasive Spinal Electrical Stimulation (NISE-Stim) is a key component of the broader Sensophysio therapy approach, which is generating significant excitement within the parent and therapist communities for its potential to improve therapeutic outcomes.
The event is structured into two distinct parts:
For Parents: Personalized Consultations On October 9th and 10th, Gerti Motavalli will be at the ApexaQLA Suisse center for personal consultations with families. This offers a rare chance for parents of children with neurological and motor disabilities to receive individualized therapy sessions and expert guidance from Gerti Motavalli and the ApexaQLA Suisse team led by Fabienne Theler, MSc PT and NISE-Stim expert.
For Therapists: NISE-Stim Certification Course Following the consultations, a comprehensive two-day NISE-Stim Certification Course will be held on October 11th and 12th, designed for physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other qualified medical professionals. The course, presented in German with English course materials available, will provide hands-on training and cover:
NISE-Stim Application: Techniques for muscle activation and functional electrical stimulation (FES) for core, arm, and leg control.
Clinical Protocol Development: Step-by-step guidance on parameter selection, electrode placement, and creating individualized therapy plans.
Evidence and Theory: An in-depth analysis of the mechanisms, indications, and contraindications of NISE-Stim.
"We are honored to host Gerti Motavalli for this landmark event, which marks a new chapter for pediatric neuro-rehabilitation in Switzerland," said Remco Hoppezak, Managing Director of ApexaQLA Suisse. "By welcoming a global expert and offering this advanced training, we are not only providing an exceptional resource to families, but also solidifying ApexaQLA Suisse's position as a national leader and a beacon of innovation for the entire therapy community."
This event underscores ApexaQLA Suisse's dedication to its mission of providing exemplary care and continuous education. For more information or to register for a consultation or course, please visit ApexaQLA.ch or contact the center via WhatsApp and telephone at +41 44 688 10 11.
