Do not rush to run to an expensive procedure at your dentist - you can make snow-white teeth at home. There are a couple of nuances but we explain them.
At first, you need to get the go-ahead from your dentist. Unfortunately, there are some contraindications. If you have sensitive teeth or there are crowns and fillings on the front teeth, we can’t advise you to perform teeth whitening at home.
If the dentist allowed it, then proceed to the basics. Do you brush your teeth regularly? Maybe the whole problem is the wrong care. Try to brush your teeth properly.
Now is the time to start home teeth whitening. Bear in mind, the effect will not be as stunning as with professional services, but it will cost cheaper and the harm will be minimal.
1. Strawberry
Strawberries contain the enzyme malic acid, which magically helps to whiten teeth. As an option: you can mix strawberries with wheat flour and apply the mixture to your teeth. Unfortunately, strawberries aren’t available year-round in some states. For them, the method is good only in the summer.
2. Apple vinegar
Apple vinegar is suitable for many purposes. One of them is teeth whitening. Just rinse your teeth with vinegar without swallowing it. It is recommended to use this method once a week. The taste of vinegar is a bit unpleasant, but you will be pleased with the results.
3. Bay leaf and orange zest
Orange skins + bay leaf is a great tooth whitener. Take a few pieces of orange peel and rub them into the tooth enamel. Rub the bay leaf into powder. Also, apply it to your teeth and leave for 5 minutes. Rinse your mouth with warm water.
This method is better to perform once a week. The acid contained in the orange zest kills bacteria that cause stains on the enamel. And the bay leaf discolors the spots.
4. Coconut oil
Usage of coconut oil is a very ancient way of teeth whitening. The oil contains lauric acid. It destroys the bacteria, because of which the teeth become yellow. Apply a little portion of coconut oil directly to your teeth and gums. Then rub it in for 15 minutes. After that, just spit the oil and brush your teeth with your usual toothpaste.
5. Banana
You need only the banana peel, so you can mix business with pleasure and eat a banana before the procedure. It is useful to wipe the teeth with the inner side of a banana peel. When your teeth are covered with banana paste, wait 10 minutes and then brush your teeth with regular toothpaste.
6. Basil leaves
Basil leaves is a natural solution for teeth whitening. Add mustard oil to dried and blended basil leaves. Then rub the teeth with a mixture. It will strengthen them and add some shine.
7. Baking Soda
This is perhaps the most famous way to whiten teeth. Apply the usual toothpaste to the toothbrush and lightly sprinkle some soda on top. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice. Brush your teeth for a couple of minutes with this mixture, and then rinse your mouth with cold water. This procedure causes unpleasant taste sensations, but it is extremely effective for teeth whitening.
And do not forget about proper nutrition: less soda drinks, coffee, strong black tea, and sweets. Then the effect of teeth whitening procedures will be much more noticeable. Remember that the best way to keep your teeth healthy is to clean them regularly, as well as to use floss. This prevents stains on the enamel and removes plaque.
