NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Envision Healthcare announced today that it has appointed Teresa Sparks as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial officer and Kristin Darby as Chief Information Officer.

Sparks brings extensive experience in healthcare finance, operations and acquisitions. She most recently served as interim CFO at Brookdale Senior Living. In her previous roles, she served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for Nashville-based Surgery Partners and its predecessor company, Symbion, where she took the company public and was instrumental in leading its organic and acquisition-based growth strategy.
Sparks is on the Board of Trustees at Trevecca Nazarene University and previously served as the chairperson for the Nashville Healthcare Council’s Leadership Health Care (LHC) program. She has a Bachelor of Science in business administration and accounting with honors from Trevecca Nazarene University, and she has qualified as a certified public accountant.
Darby has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare IT, finance, mergers and acquisitions, strategy and leadership. Prior to her new role, Darby served as the Enterprise Chief Information Officer of Cancer Treatment Centers of America where she was the principal strategist and architect for the organization’s information services, informatics, digital and innovation functions. She has also served as a divisional Chief Information Officer for Vanguard Health System and Tenet Healthcare and as Chief Information Officer for Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions.
Darby is a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and has received numerous national industry awards, including CIO100, Boston Business Journal CIO of the Year and ComputerWorld’s Premier 100 Technology Leaders. Darby has a Bachelor of Science in accounting and management information systems from the University of South Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the Henley Business School in Oxfordshire, England. She is a certified public accountant, certified fraud examiner and certified healthcare CIO.
