“We are thrilled to have such an eminent panel of speakers this year,” said Dr. Falconer. “This topic is of great interest to social scientists and policy makers alike because, unfortunately, the rights of the mentally ill are often not considered in criminal justice settings.”
”We need to help people with mental illness get the support and services they need while incarcerated or to stay out of jail in the first place,” said Dr. Docherty. “I think that mental health professionals, prisoners’ rights advocates and members of the law enforcement community will all benefit from attending our event.”
The public is invited to attend. Free. No RSVP required.
