AI Startup Working to Achieve Three StartUp Health Moonshots - Access to Care, Cost to Zero, Cure Disease - to Improve the Health of People Worldwide
October 10, 2017 (Washington, DC) Zignifica, a US/Denmark based startup that makes clinical research applicable at the point-of-care, has been chosen to join StartUp Health Moonshot Academy and its global army of Health Transformers and digital health entrepreneurs. Now with nearly 200 companies, StartUp Health is supporting Health Transformers around the world that are working on 10 Health Moonshots, with the long-term goal of improving the health and wellbeing of everyone in the world.
Zignifica helps providers in finding relevant clinical research and easily understand the clinical significance of it. This allows providers to spend less time on doing research and more time on seeing patients, while delivering better care at the same time.
For the physicians, but also for the patients and their caregivers it is not clear which clinical research is trustworthy and meaningful. Per a Stanford School of Medicine study, only 15% of clinical research provides useful information. This means that patients and providers cannot be sure that they have access to the best treatments and there is a substantial risk of over-treatment.
“We started Zignifica to help providers, patients and caregivers easily identify trustworthy clinical research, and are proud to be part of the StartUp Health Moonshot Academy,” said Kim Kristiansen, Co-Founder and CEO of Zignifica. “We are looking forward to working together with StartUp Health and the other Health Transformers to both contribute and benefit from being part of the StartUp Health community and their powerful network.”
“It's very exciting to welcome Zignifica and their team to the StartUp Health family,” said Polina Hanin, Director of StartUp Health Moonshot Academy. “We’re inspired by the world's Health Transformers that are setting out to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in the world. And Zignifica - working to achieve the Access to Care, Cost to Zero and Cure Disease Moonshots - is on a mission we care deeply about.”
