Tenet Healthcare’s chief information officer will retire at the end of the year, the for-profit hospital operator said Friday.
Paola Arbour, who has overseen Tenet’s IT strategy, operations and finances since 2018, will leave her post on Dec. 31, according to a securities filing.
However, Arbour will continue working at the health system on a part-time basis through April 1, 2028. She will receive a weekly salary of $820 for transition and support services, Tenet said.
Arbour joined Tenet nearly seven years ago from technology consulting and managed services firm ProV International, where she served as president of the company’s ServiceNow business unit. She had spent more than 30 years in IT operations, including at computer and technology company Dell.
Her retirement comes as Tenet, which operates 50 hospitals across eight states and hundreds of other care sites, has been working to boost margins, including by doubling down on high-acuity service lines.
The company’s high-acuity portfolio helped to increase adjusted earnings in the fourth quarter, according to management. Tenet’s ambulatory care business, United Surgical Partners International, also helped bolster earnings due to admissions growth.
Tenet reported $1.4 billion in net income in 2025, down from $3.2 billion the previous year due to divestitures.
Additionally, early this year the health system regained full ownership of Conifer Health Solutions, its revenue cycle management subsidiary, from CommonSpirit Health. The purchase should give Tenet more flexibility to grow Conifer, including by investing in artificial intelligence and automation, Tenet CEO Dr. Saum Sutaria said in February.
The hospital operator will report first-quarter financial results on April 30.
