- The Mass Collaborative, a group composed of more than 35 health plans, healthcare providers and trade associations, says its new website will help streamline burdensome healthcare administrative processes.
- "Although just 10% of every healthcare premium dollar goes towards administrative spending, there is more progress to be made," Deborah Devaux, senior vice president of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, said in a press announcement. "The Mass Collaborative is leading the charge to bring about greater administrative standardization and simplification to increase efficiency and enable physicians to dedicate more time to caring for our members."
- The website's features include access to standardized industry forms, and solutions that address key challenges related to physician credentialing, insurance eligibility verification, claims appeals, prior-authorizations and payer-provider communications.

Seeing is believing and Mass Collaborative's website is, indeed, easy to navigate and full of resources. Perhaps most useful is the site's rollout of a standardized "alpha search" feature that improves the accuracy of locating healthcare providers. There's also a universal "Provider Request for Claim Review Form," which may be used submit a claim to a health plan or MassHealth for additional review. We'll see what providers, payers and consumers have to say once they have an opportunity to use the technology.
