Name: Rob Allen
New title: president and CEO of Intermountain Healthcare
Previous title: chief operating officer of Intermountain Healthcare
Intermountain Healthcare has promoted its chief operating officer, Rob Allen, to take over the top job as chief executive officer of the Utah-based health system starting Dec. 1.

Allen will replace interim CEO Lydia Jumonville, who joined the organization following the system’s merger with SCL Health.
Former CEO Marc Harrison announced his plans to step down in August and said he planned to leave in the fall to join General Catalyst.
After an executive search, Intermountain landed on Allen, a longtime executive of the nonprofit health system. He first joined in 2008 and worked his way up to the top spot after a number of leadership positions including regional operating officer and CEO of Intermountain’s Park City Medical Center.
Most recently, he served as chief operating officer for the entire system for about six years.
Prior to Intermountain, Allen was the CEO of hospitals in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Wyoming, Intermountain said.
