- Michael J. Mandl has been named president and CEO of Emeory Healthcare, replacing John Fox.
- Mandl has been with Emory since 2003 as executive vice president for business and administration. He is also the board chair for Emory Innovations Inc.
- Fox is leaving to become CEO of Beaumont Health in the Detroit area.
The move comes as Emory Healthcare and WellStar Health System continue to discuss a possible merger into a new nonprofit entity. Mandl has played a major role in those discussions, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Emory is the largest health system in Georgia, with more than 1,800 licensed patient beds.
