- Dove Healthcare will take over operation of some of Mayo Clinic Health System's nursing homes and assisted living facilities, the organizations announced Wednesday.
- The change will apply to Mayo's nursing homes located in Bloomer, Osseo and Barron, and to their assisted living facilities located in Osseo and Barron. Dove intends to build new several facilities, freeing up some of Mayo's buildings for other uses.
- Dove says it intends to work with Mayo and its 135 employees who will be impacted at these locations to try to keep them employed.
Dive Insight:
The organizations say the changeover is simply a licence transfer as opposed to a purchase, and it will need to be approved by the state of Wisconsin.
The move is expected to be completed in October. After residents are moved into new Dove buildings, Mayo will utilize its Barron, Bloomer and Osseo buildings for other purposes, but it says it has not yet determined how it will use those spaces.
Dove owner Tommy Davidson said he was taking on the facilities in order to grow his organization locally.
