Dive Insight:
There are several things that are significant about Fox's new role. For starters, he's the first CEO to come from outside the Beaumont system, as previous CEOs were promoted from within. Fox is credited most recently for leading Emory Healthcare to become one of the top-rated health systems in the country for quality and patient safety. Remember, Emory cared for the first two Ebola patients brought to the United States.
"John and his team's recent work in successfully caring for Ebola patients and their families further established Emory's reputation for outstanding care," said said John Lewis, Beaumont Health's chairman, in a statement. "We are fortunate to have such a well-respected and experienced CEO to lead Beaumont Health."
