Troy, Michigan: May 25, 2021 – Pinnacle GI Partners (“Pinnacle GI”), a leading and fast-growing provider of management services to medical providers who provide gastrointestinal and digestive care at premier hospitals and ancillary care centers, recently announced the hiring of a Chief Executive Officer, James A. Grant, MD.
Prior to joining Pinnacle GI, Dr. Grant was a Senior Lead Operator on the Private Equity Health and Life Team of Partners Group, a global private markets investment manager. While at Partners Group, James focused on private equity investments in healthcare businesses such as novel payor-provider models, medical device products, and physician practice management companies.
Dr. Grant supported the boards of Partner Group’s healthcare portfolio companies Confluent Health, Blue River Pet Care, EyeCare Partners, Wedgewood Pharmacy, and PCI Pharma to drive the strategy and value creation agendas. Most recently, Dr. Grant served as the Interim Division President for Ophthalmology at EyeCare Partners, the largest vertically integrated vision services provider in the US, where he managed the Ophthalmology Division during the recent COVID crisis.
Throughout his career, Dr. Grant has served in various capacities in leading healthcare companies, including as a Regional Vice President for Surgical Care Affiliates and as a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group. Early in his career, he was a biomedical engineer in the basic research division of Guidant / Boston Scientific.
Dr. Grant earned his MD, MBA and BS in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
