- Walgreens has expanded availability of its mobile app, offering MDLIVE's telehealth services to 20 additional states, for a total of 25. The app has also been updated to provide better functionality and integration.
- The platform was initially launched in Dec. 2014 via Walgreens mobile app in California and Michigan. Then, the company expanded into Colorado, Illinois, and Washington.
- The newly added states include Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Telehealth continues to be a fast-growing market, expected to reach $43.3 billion by 2019, as previously reported in Healthcare Dive. Adam Pellegrini, Walgreens divisional vice president of digital health, said in a company press release, "We have seen that telehealth solutions play an important role in helping to improve patient outcomes, and we will continue to work to evolve our offerings to ensure our patients can choose what's most convenient for them whether that's live doctor consultations, digitally chatting with a pharmacist, or visiting a Healthcare Clinic."
