- Both facilities are slated to open in mid May.
Dive Insight:
The move by Tenet comes during a positive time for the healthcare services company, as it is expected to announce positive first quarter numbers on Monday and has seen the previous four quarters each bring double-digit year-over-year revenue growth.
The push into ambulatory services is also part of Tenet's core strategy right now:
"I'd characterize our strategy now as developing our ambulatory and services business, and further developing our core acute care business, but not through acquisitions alone," CEO Trevor Fetter told The Advisory Board. "That's a tool that's available to us, but we're much more interested in expanding and solidifying our geographic footprint through innovative partnerships with well-respected not-for-profit organizations."
The WBMC facility in Coconut Creek is described as 20,000 square feet with 11 treatment rooms. It will employ 30 full-time staff members, plus the physicians that will provide services there.
The FMC facility in Davie is 13,626 square feet and will employ 40 staff members. Both EDs are expected to be able to treat the majority of patients that come in on-site.
