Dive Brief:
- IT budget increases have leveled out now that organizations have key personnel and systems in place to deal with workload concerns, according to a new three-year analysis released Monday by TEKsystems.
- 51% of respondents said that they expect their organization's IT budget to increase in 2015, a drop from the 68% that said the same going into 2014. That 68% was a spike—attitudes have returned to almost identical levels as the beginning of 2013.
- 38% expect IT budgets to remain the same, similar to the 2013 response rate of 41%. This was a significant increase over the 23% that said the same in 2014.
Dive Insight:
TEKsystems says as more work is done to make the most of investments, organizations will need to at least maintain their full-time and contingent workforces in order to cultivate efficiency and make progress. Project managers, programmers and developers will remain among the most difficult IT positions to fill, according to the staffing firm's results.
Organizations now need to shift their focus to making the most of their current investments when implementing new projects or establishing best practices, according to the report. Expect to see spending increases in security, mobility, BI/Big Data and cloud.
