Though they are required to be at the forefront of technology in clinical matters, hospitals are behind the curve when it comes to using web technology to help their patients. The reasons vary somewhat from institution to institution, but what it comes down to is that they have other priorities, experts say. Not only are hospitals slow to adopt new web technology, many are behind in establishing a robust social media presence as well. Some hospitals are making the commitment to improving patient web experience, however: The Mayo Clinic came out first in a list of web-friendly hospitals Evolve presented as part of the report.
