Dive Insight:
The growth stems primarily from increased demand for the company's New Mexico health insurance exchange business, the company said, noting the number of consumers using the marketplace grew from 3,300 in 2015 to 18,000 in 2016.
The availability of area call center staff is partially due to other businesses leaving the state. “This is allowing Molina to expand the contact center to support the growth of Marketplace nationwide," Arévalo told Albuquerque Business First, noting the insurer's data center, also located in Albuquerque, has also been expanded along with the size of the company.
Molina Healthcare, which is based in Long Beach, California, reported a total of 1,066 New Mexico employees as of the beginning of 2016. It serves more than 3.5 million enrollees across 11 states and saw $14.2 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2015.
