Holding court in the space are big, investor-owned health insurers, including UnitedHealth Group, whose market-leading figures boast 3.48 million enrollments as of this month. This marks an 8.6% increase from last year, according to Modern Healthcare’s analysis.
More enrollees are expected to sign up for the private plans beginning Oct. 15 when the annual open enrollment period begins, lasting until Dec. 7.
