- HealthSouth Corp., which describes itself as the country's largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitative hospitals, has announced the formation of a joint venture with St. John Health System based in Tulsa, OK to operate the 40-bed Bernsen Rehabilitation Center.
- The center is currently located at St. John Medical Center's Tulsa campus, but the deal includes plans to build a new freestanding center.
- The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Construction for the new 49,000-square-foot rehabilitation center is slated run from the third quarter of 2015 to the fourth quarter of 2016. The center serves those who have suffered disabling injury or illness such as amputation, brain injury, Parkinson's, stroke, etc.
The St. John Health System is sponsored by Ascension Health, the largest Catholic and nonprofit health system in the U.S. It operates numerous hospitals, clinics and nursing centers in Oklahoma.
HealthSouth Corporation, based in Birmingham, Alabama, operates rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, home health and hospice agencies in 33 states and in Puerto Rico.
