Dive Brief:
- The Government Accountability Office has agreed to launch an investigation into the use of about $304 million in grants funding Oregon's exchange site.
- To date, Oregon's exchange site has not been working and has been unable to enroll anyone.
- The GAO may also investigate other states that have fallen under fire for questionable performance, including the Maryland, Massachusetts and Hawaii exchanges.
Dive Insight:
Given the complexity of state exchanges, the GAO will have its hands full investigating just what went wrong in some states. Expect the investigation to take a while, and to involve a lot of finger-pointing over who was really responsible for what.
