DaVita HealthCare Partners, the parent company of DaVita Kidney Care, was $4.4 billion purchase in 2012 to help broaden the dialysis provider's general healthcare business. This partnership represents entry into a new market for DaVita HealthCare Partners, which does not currently manage a medical group or physician network in the state of Colorado. (Its current scope is 829,000 patients in five states.) Centura Health works with over 6,000 physicians, operating over 15 hospitals and six senior living facilities in Colorado and Kansas.
