- CMS has unveiled a draft plan for how it intends to develop and utilize quality measures for payment models under the Medicare Access and Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (MACRA).

The draft plan says MACRA aims to foster the implementation of certified EHR technologies and qualified clinical data registries. The document is working to fill the gaps that exist in measures currently being used.
- The draft plan states, "To fill identified measure and performance gap areas, CMS will expand and enhance existing measures to promote alignment and harmonization in the selection of measures and specifications, while concurrently developing new (de novo) measures."
