- Now that the renovation is complete, the ED has 21 new private rooms, a new split-flow triage and treatment area, an additional X-ray machine and new CT equipment.

Lutheran Hospital's ED was originally built in 1957; it was updated in 1988 and again in 2005. In 2014, the ED staff treated 26,000 patients.
In a press release, Dr. J. Stephen Jones, president of Cleveland Clinic's regional hospitals and family health centers, said the investment "shows our long-term commitment to the Ohio City neighborhood and city of Cleveland, and our dedication to expanding services that will better serve the healthcare needs of our community."
