- The new facilities produced $82 million in collective revenue in 2014.
Dive Insight:
Acquisitions in the behavioral health market have already outpaced 2014, at $219 million so far this year, according to Healthcare Finance News. Much of that growth is likely attributable to proposed CMS incentives to raise payment rates for psychiatric inpatient facilities 1.6% by 2018.
This isn't the first of these acquisitions for Acadia,w hich acquired Quality Addiction Management in March for $53 million. Joey Jacobs, chairman, and CEO, said in a statement: "These acquisitions are consistent with our growth strategies and reflect growing demand for behavioral health services in both the U.S. and the U.K. As a result of the transactions, we now operate 45 inpatient facilities with approximately 1,800 beds in the U.K. We continue to have robust opportunities to expand further in this market through organic growth and acquisition."
